Out for a walk That's when I can remember Eyes moving back and forth Stir the whole story Under every story there's a physical simile And with every past time there's present feel Where is that spot In me that remembers Quiet still still eyes quiet still, still Under every story there's a physical simile And with every past time there's present feel

I got on the train to trip away It sent my ears another place Believe me Yes I got so in along the way I dropped out and missed my plane Which pleased me And now I've just got Tracks before and tracks behind I can jump off anytime With just a bandaged knee

And I don't know What you know my friend Same brain Left right do not connect Me to what You think is true Yes half way haunted Hemispheric stasis And we can't know each other

I say something about me You say something about you You say there's something about me That's something like you About me, about you Something true I see I say that maybe one day I'll see through all the me and the you To something true Not the me not the you But that thing far through From which we grew Neither me, neither you Never really too When you look through When the we and why have gone by No more we No more why No more we No more why

How to lose self Electronic blips I'm in bits Assemble what I wish Haste, don't let in So what about The out We're in too deep now Deep inside now In too deep now Deep inside now In How the hour glass Quickens time And thickens time But digital can feel Heal

Sometimes the message gets lost in between Intend to be secure I'm sure Till we pin On ourselves To try to pin it down Who said every birthday really ought to be the same? Who said you should every birthday be the same?

Houses where you and I live Are made of imperfect motives We fill them up to consecrate Our unions with our lives Purchase pretty proper pieces Put them Place them Then erase them When the season ends Houses cannot be our selves Our image or our deed nor indeed Can our cars go that far To fill our real need Purchase pretty proper pieces Put them Place them Then erase them When the season ends When it ends

about

Recorded in a little attic apartment in Hamilton in 2010... rented a bari sax for a week and recorded sounds... mixed those funny sounds around and they turned into songs... sang about the inner, the outer, experiences that remain, body and mind, knowing and not knowing, self and objects, tuning in and jumping off... existed, forgotten in the CD physical realm... dusted it off and had a listen and thought I'd like to share as a prologue to my 'first' Vividness albums.
